Review Writing

So after talking about two of the websites I earn most from I guess I should write about some more of them!

Today its review writing. I write on two sites ciao and dooyoo, both are very similar and happily it's acceptable to post the same review on both sites (assuming the product is present in their catalogues).

Ciao is the first one I joined many years ago, my original account was purged after a very long period of inactivity but happily I was able to open a new account and start over.

I like ciao for the ease with which you can suggest products, and write drafts.

Dooyoo is more limited on how you can suggest products with a selection of categories open each month so there are times when you may have to wait a few months to suggest a product to review which is both frustrating and in my case results in me forgetting I was planning to review it at all!

Good quality reviews naturally differ depending on the product, but as far as posting reviews go I prefer to post at most one review per day - any more I find results in fewer reads and rates thus less cash for me, I like to try to write with some humour and a bit of personal information to show how the products fit in to my lifestyle.

Payments on each site are very different, ciao you can cash out from £5, and payments are processed once a month by BACS. Dooyoo on the other hand you have to earn £20 to cash out as an amazon voucher, or you can save up to £50 to cash out for cash.

Both sites run referal systems but require email invites (and ciao's system is down at the moment - will edit later).

How I preform a hover over the red lines.

As mentioned in my previous post I have a multitude of ways in which I plan to attempt to reduce my debt and cover my monthly outgoings until I find a paid job again. Where there are links in the following post they are referal links so if you were to click and join the site via them I will for the most part recieve a small bonus for any activity you make on the site (hint hint ;) )

Swagbucks.
This is something of an all-round site there are a wide variety of possible ways to earn 'swagbucks' or SB's, which include surveys, random wins from a search bar, watching videos, playing games to completing crowdsourcing tasks. Generally I aim to earn the equivalent of £25 a month from this one, which I claim as cash to my paypal account, but there are a wide variety of gift voucher options with vouchers starting from just £5. Different value vouchers cost different numbers of SB's, eg the £25 paypal costs 4949 SBs, while £5 will cost 1049 SB's and a £5 amazon voucher 849 SBs. Obviously the gift vouchers are better value than the cash option, and the high the value of the voucher the more each SB is worth. But as with everything online I urge caution and would suggest cashing out little and often just in case!

For a referral I will earn up to 1000 SB's per ref.

In a similar vein to Swagbucks is Instagc

Insta does many of the same things as SB but has my personal current favourite earning method with its rewards radio - every 10 minutes of listening you enter a captcha and receive a point. But in line with swagbucks there are a wide range of ways to earn including the same crowdsourcing tasks, surveys (though you have to go looking for them on offer walls) and a nice section devoted to videos.
With this one you can cash out from as little as 160 points, which is worth £1 in amazon vouchers - there is no benefit to saving towards higher value rewards as each £1 is always worth 160 points. I also like that you can set a target which is then displayed in the top right of the screen and tells you how close you are to meeting it. They don't offer a cash/paypal option in the UK, but for those of you in the US you can cash out via cheque, however other UK options are Starbucks, Groupon and ASOS. Again and partially as a result of the ease with which you can earn 160 points I urge a little and often approach to cashing out.

Each referal is worth 10% of your site activity to me, so if you earn 10 points I get an additional 1, but there is currently no limit to this.

The depths of my debt.

This post is pretty much a c&p from my MSE diary.

My current fixed outgoings are minimal.

£100 for my car, this includes saving £50 towards paying my tax and insurance annually and £50 petrol. Worst case I can stop paying the saving portion until I'm working again.
£10.50 for my phone contract
£27 finance for a sofa I bought in January for my old flat.

So a total of £137.50

On top of that I have two credit cards.
Barclaycard which I spent on which has a current balance of £1261.55
and and MBNA rate for life with a balance of £3425.40, part of this is on the r4l and £1300 is on 0% until the end of June next year.

That gives me a total debt of £4686.95.

The combined minimum payments this month are just short of £80.

This week however I have also put an additional £225 on the barclaycard to cover the cost of an OU course so that I can get back in to my degree plan.

Following posts will cover the ways I plan to earn the money to cover my outgoings whilst I job hunt.

Jobless and Homeless. It can't get worse.

I guess a short introduction is in order.

I'm usually known as ScubaAngel, scoobs, or psychotic dwarf (to one or two very good friends who have no idea how lucky they are to still be alive..) I've lurked on and around MSE, arrse and RP over the last few years and am taking something of a leap in actively linking my personas from the latter to with my more sensible MSE face!

I've just moved from the South East where for the last three years I've been working at the Royal Military Academy at Sandhurst (aka RMAS). I moved down here from my family home up on the moors north of Bolton to be with my new ex boyfriend. For the last 12 months I've been living alone in a small and slightly grotty flat which has quite frankly stretched my finances to their limits.

This morning I turned in my security passes, packed up the remainder of my possessions and drove the 240 miles from RMAS up to my Dad's house, where for the last month the contents of my former flat have been finding themselves new places to live between my parents homes!

The post title of jobless and homeless is I guess slightly inaccurate since I do have a home with my Dad for as long as I want it but at 28 I am far too old to live with my Dad for any length of time without us killing one another. The jobless part is perhaps slightly misleading too as though I no longer have a PAYEE employer I am self employed doing mainly mystery shopping work which I am hoping I can use to keep myself financially stable whilst I look for a full time job to enable me to get out and in to my own home again.

Later posts will disclose the extent of my debt and my ultimate plan to get it cleared and ideally start saving but it all feels a bit scary tonight so instead I'm going to settle in to my bed and try to get some sleep!
